Letter of Recommendation
It is with great pride that I recommend Elizabeth "Beth" Chretien. She was a student worker in the Art Institute of San Antonio library when I was hired as the librarian in 2013. In this role, she helped manage the library—maintaining organization, assisting students with reference and technology questions, and providing one-on-one tutoring. During her time in the library, Beth quickly became our most requested tutor due to her passion for art, patience, ability to clearly explain complex concepts, and strong skills in both digital and traditional media. Students consistently knew they would gain valuable insight when working with her on subjects such as web design, Photoshop, perspective drawing, and more.
Beth demonstrated a genuine commitment to student success. She frequently went above and beyond—staying late or making herself available on weekends—to ensure students had the support they needed. At the same time, she encouraged accountability, fostering independence and growth by expecting students to fully engage in their own learning. Her balance of encouragement and high standards helped many students build confidence and master new skills.
Beyond her work in the library, she was a leader within the school community, including her involvement with Rotary. She is a bright, creative individual who approaches her work with dedication and integrity. Beth was an exceptional tutor, and I am confident she will be an outstanding teacher. I recommend her without reservation.
Sincerely, Amy Lewis, MLIS, MFA
